What is CRI?
The CRI (Color Rendering Index) of a light source does not refer to the colour temperature—we use Kelvin for that. CRI describes the ability of the light to reveal the colours of various objects. That means that CRI comes in handy when lighting up art exhibitions and shooting photos in a studio. It’s important to highlight that CRI and temperature are unrelated. Temperature sets the mood but does not affect color rendering.

CRI is a scale from 0 to 100
When the LED bulb first hit the market, its CRI was usually around 60-69. The industry has made major advances since then, and these days, it’s not hard to find an LED bulb with a higher CRI. The range of LED bulbs from e3light features bulbs with a CRI above 90—compared to standard LED lights, which typically feature a CRI of around 80.
