Back in 1922, Bernard-Albin GRAS designed a number of lamps that were intended for use in offices and industry. The GRAS lamp, as it was later called, was totally unique with its simple and robust yet ergonomic design. The basic shape uses neither screws nor welded joints. In 1927, Ravel purchased the patent on La Lampe GRAS and started manufacturing the ceiling lamps.
