Mazo Wall Lamps
”It’s important to us that the designs we launch today are still relevant in 50 years. My grandfather was forward-thinking and ahead of his time when he drew our WNG Chair; likewise, our ambition is that all our designs are fit to stand the test of time and prove useful in the future”, says Magnus Stephensen, one of the three founders of Mazo and grandchild of one of their designers. In partnership with the two other founders, the duo Louise Sigvardt and Marcus Hannibal, and ceramicist Snorre Læssøe Stephensen, Mazo have created the 16PLUS lamp collection. Snorre Læssøe Stephensen himself designed the 16PLUS lamp in 1979 in connection with an exhibit at the Design Museum Denmark.
Although the lamp is more than 40 years old, the simple timeless design is a natural extension of modern décor as we know it. The delicate bone china emits a soft, comfortable glow while the lampshade ensures that the eyes are not subjected to blinding. The collection also includes the lovely flexible 16PLUS wall lamp. The sturdy oak stands in beautiful contrast to the elegant bone china lampshade, giving the lamp a Nordic expression.
