Jørn Utzon’s 100th birthday – time to celebrate!
In 2018 Jørn Utzon would have celebrated his 100th birthday! He died in 2008 just as the Utzon Center – a museum in his honour in Aalborg, Denmark – officially opened, but his legacy lives on.

Jørn Utzon is the man behind the Sydney Opera House, and another of his architectural treasures is the Utzon JU1 pendant – until now only available in white, copper and brass.

Jørn Utzon’s father was a marine engineer and he spent much of his childhood at the harbor in Aalborg. That’s where he developed his lifelong fascination with ships and their forms, and that inspiration is clear to see in almost all of his architecture and designs.

To celebrate his anniversary year &tradition have released a new version of JU1 in brass and clay – an elegant combination of modern technology and raw materials that will look wonderful wherever you hang it.

You can find Utzon JU1 in Clay here.
