NEW - Lampemesteren’s Flowerpot – Soft Green

We can finally reveal our very own edition of the Flowerpot lamp. In collaboration with &tradition, we’ve developed our own versions of the beautiful and iconic Flowerpot VP3 Table Lamp and Flowerpot VP1 Pendant in Soft Green.

The Flowerpot pendant was created by Verner Panton in 1969, when he was experimenting with new materials like plastic, steel, foam rubber, plexiglass and other synthetics. Inspired by the Flower Power movement’s ’peace, love and harmony’- as well as the rebellion against the previous generation’s materialism and traditional norms – he created the lamp as a tribute to this drive for change.

The lamp was popular almost immediately, and soon could be seen hanging in private homes around the world. As a result of this success, Panton created the Flowerpot VP3 table lamp in 1971, and it quickly became just as popular and successful.

On the back of the 1990’s fascination with everything retro from the 1960’s and 1970’s, Flowerpot made a comeback. At that time, you were lucky if you found one in a vintage shop or flea market, but in 2003 &tradition brought this iconic classic back to life.

A design classic in nature’s favourite colour

Since the 1960’s, Flowerpot has been well known for being available in a wide range of colours. The same is true today, with our own new shade joining the palette.

Choosing a new colour is never easy, but after many hours of consideration and thorough trend research we opted for Soft Green. This peaceful green shade – a light yellow-based green, comes directly from the colours of a burgeoning meadow. It produces a feeling of peace and quiet and is easy to integrate into a contemporary home.

The colour fits into current trends with their focus on wellness and mental health. Society’s growing interest in welfare, self-care and connecting with the natural world is reflected in the increasing use of natural colours in interior decorating – and this soft shade of green is a perfect accompaniment.
