Design Poul Henningsen for Louis Poulsen Concept The PH Artichoke was designed in 1958 by Poul Henningsen for the Langelinie Pavillion restaurant in Copenhagen, where it still hangs. The PH Artichoke is trademarked by its unique and sculptural design, is world-famous, and is considered an international design icon. The fixture consists of 72 leaves splits into 12 rows and their collective placement provides a glare-free light regardless of viewing angle. In order to ensure the highest quality level, large parts of the production process are still done by hand. The ultimate pendant for connoisseurs, the Artichoke is unparalleled in its fame and popularity across the globe. Danish design at the highest level of form and function, it has not run out of breath even with 50 years of experience. Please note: PH Artichoke pendants are special objects – complex, fragile and high-value – and deserve special treatment. If you have any doubts at all about installing the lamp yourself, we strongly recommend contacting a local electrician/installer for help. Special security measures like engraving are a very good idea. We also recommend insuring the lamp. Please contact out Customer Service team if you have any questions or concerns – we have Artichoke experience and can help point you in the right direction.
