New additions to the Tolomeo and Ilio lighting collections from Artemide in exclusive special editions
2023 was the year when several beautiful special designs from the Italian designer brand Artemide have seen the light of day. This includes both a Christmas edition of the iconic architectural lamp series Tolomeo, which has been in production since the lamp was designed back in 1987, and an exclusive Limited Edition edition of the floor lamp series Ilio on the occasion of the series' 10th anniversary. Both editions retain the same rigorous design that characterizes the rest of the series and have the same excellent quality according to their functions.

The special edition Tolomeo has a beautiful copper finish on the surface and comes in a smaller format that is about half the size of the original table lamp. This makes for a beautiful designer lamp that also fits smaller desks and surfaces with limited space. The lamp is part of the award-winning Tolomeo architectural lamp series designed by Giancarlo Fassina and Michele de Lucchi for Artemide. Since its launch in 1987, Tolomeo has won numerous awards, including the Compasso d'Oro Award in 1989 and Observeur du Design Paris in 2001, and has graced countless desks around the world. Designed by the very founder of Artemide, Ernesto Gismondi, the Ilio series is known for its extremely detailed design, clean geometry and minimalist expression. All these features that characterize the Ilio series and give them their high recognition value have been preserved in the anniversary edition, but with a fascinating surface finish. The coating has been applied using a special PVD technique that has made it possible to create an infinitely graduated transition from golden at the bottom to silver gray at the top. The anniversary edition of the Ilio has only been produced in 2000 copies. Each copy is marked with a serial number and Ernesto Gismondi's signature.
