Parachilna Lamps
The ABALLS collection from the Spanish brand Parachilna is characterised by its use of quality materials and excellent craftsmanship. The wall lamps, pendants and table lamps are constructed from handmade ceramics and glass. All lamps in the collection consist of a round glass shade with a diffuse matte white surface and ceramics in either white, black, platinum, gold or copper. The glass and the ceramics are held together by a brass band in the centre.
Aballs was designed by the renowned designer Jaime Hayon who has worked with a range of manufacturers of interior design solutions all over the world. Amongst others, he has designed lamps for &tradition – you can see them here. Just like Arne Jacobsen in 1960, Jaime Hayon has decorated a room at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Copenhagen (previously known as SAS Royal). There is a lovely Aballs T GR pendant suspended over the coffee table in the room. You can learn more here.

Aballs – a modern art deco lamp
The materials are exclusive and the handmade ceramic colours are intense. The round shape and the brass band also contribute to the lamp’s distinct art deco feeling. The lamp is simultaneously detailed and simple – an expression that brings the art deco style into the present day and keeps the lamp modern.
Room 506 at SAS Royal (now Radisson Blu) was designed by Jaime Hayon and is therefore equipped with a pendant from the Aballs collection. One side of the room has a small sofa corner with a coffee table – and over the coffee table is the large gold ceramic pendant from the Aballs collection. It fits in perfectly and provides a soft light. Jaime Hayon has also designed lamps and furniture for the Danish company &tradition and Fritz Hansen. &tradition is known for producing Verner Panton’s Flowerpot lamps and Jørgen Utzon’s JU1 lamp.
