BL3 Floor Lamp Ø21 Black Brass/Classic White – designed in 1930 by Robert Dudley Best, a British designer who was strongly influenced by the Bauhaus school. Its clean lines and elegant expression are combined with great functionality thanks to the adjustable arms (horizontal and vertical) and the movable lampshade. The Bestlite BL3 floor lamp can be used as a reading lamp in any modern home where you want a lamp with character. ⧏BR/⧐Bestlite lamps were first used in the Royal Air Force Engineering Department due to their great functionality. Architects Journal named Bestlite the first evidence of Bauhaus in Great Britain, which brought the lamp to the attention of design enthusiasts. Public demand soon followed, and when Winston Churchill personally chose his Bestlite BL1 table lamp for his desk, the lamp's iconic status was secured.
The Bestlite design remains close to its industrial roots and is true to the original design. The lamps are on permanent display at the Victoria & Albert Museum and the Design Museum in London.
Bestlite lamps have been loved by architects, designers and design enthusiasts throughout their long history and are now considered modern classics.
