The Bestlite BL7 wall light in black brass, designed by Robert Dudley Best in 1930, has elegant and pure lines with clear references to the Bauhaus period. With its modern look in various colours, the Bestlite BL7 wall lamp is ideal for the hallway, as a bedside lamp or above the kitchen table. Hang it on its own or combine it in pairs to create an expressive light source.
Bestlite lamps were first used in the Royal Air Force Engineering Department due to their great functionality. Architects Journal named Bestlite the first evidence of Bauhaus in Great Britain, which brought the lamp to the attention of design enthusiasts. Public demand soon followed, and when Winston Churchill personally chose his Bestlite BL1 table lamp for his desk, the lamp's iconic status was secured.
The Bestlite design remains close to its industrial roots and is true to the original design. The lamps are on permanent display at the Victoria & Albert Museum and the Design Museum in London.
Throughout their long history, Bestlite lamps have been loved by architects, designers and design enthusiasts alike, and today they are considered modern classics
