Space Copenhagen is a relatively young brand established in 2005 by Signe Bindslev Henriksen and Peter Bundgaard Rützou. Both designers were trained at the Royal Danish Academy of Architect. They are famous (and infamous) for messing with the status quo and creating products with various dimensions with an honest and personal vision for their designs.
Space Copenhagen has tried its hand at a wide range of products, including interior design, furniture, refined practical products, and artistic installations, and the duo has also served as Art Directors. These wide-ranging tasks clearly show the depth of the duo’s skill and illustrates their ability to rise to meet different tasks, solving them all with the same passion and insatiable appetite.
In Space Copenhagen’s incredible portfolio of collaborations, &Tradition is worth a mention. The partnership has led to the lovely new classic Como SC53 Portable and the iconic Copenhagen Pendant SC6 is on its way – and let’s not forget to mention the Collect SC collection of home accessories, which is come to Space Copenhagen planters, carafes, vases, and glasses.
Other than &Tradition, Space Copenhagen has collaborated with GUBI to create Howard, and the latest collaboration was with Mater, the result of which was the gorgeous Mater Stool barstools.

    &Tradition x Space Copenhagen

Since the first collaboration in 2013, which led to the SC1 Fly collection, the legendary &Tradition has worked closely with Space Copenhagen—and both in terms of lamps and interior design, this collaboration has resulted in a range of formidable designs.
The Copenhagen table lamp, floor lamp, pendant, and wall lamp are all the result of this partnership, and these lamps have cemented Space Copenhagen’s ambition and skill in terms of lamp design. These evolved even further in the iconic &Tradition Como SC53, which is both elegant and practical.
Aside from iconic lamps and furniture, the two talented designers have also created a wealth of home accessories for &Tradition, all of which can be found here!

    Barstools and chandeliers

&Tradition is far from the only brand that has had the pleasure of working with Space Copenhagen. When the two talented designers were working on the interior design for 11 Howard in New York, they needed a good chandelier, wall lamp, and pendant—so, they designed the elegant and evergreen Howard lamp collection, which was released by GUBI and can be found here!
