Dyberg Larsen – The Design World of Frank Kerdil

Behind some of Dyberg Larsen’s most famous lighting fixtures is the Danish designer Frank Kerdil. With his keen sense of form, function, and innovation, he has created designs that continue to shape the brand’s identity to this day.

Originally trained as a graphic designer, Kerdil turned his attention to product design in the late 1990s. In doing so, he always followed his own philosophy: A new product should be more than just a variation on what already exists. Every idea should create real added value—whether through material, function, or form.

This design philosophy is particularly evident in the iconic PineApple series. Individual elements arranged one above the other create a sculptural lamp that softly diffuses light while also making a striking statement. Over the years, the design has been continuously refined and is now available as a pendant, table, floor, and wall lamp.

Designs such as Illumin and the New Worker pendant lamp also reflect Kerdil's ability to combine functionality and character in a clean, Scandinavian design language. His lighting fixtures combine creative ideas with practicality—and result in designs that stand the test of time.

Designed with curiosity. Made to last.
