9209 Table Lamp Polished Brass is a lovely lamp with a beautiful design that incorporates many of Paavo Tynell's hallmarks: The lamp is made of brass, which with its deep, shiny surface matches the colour of the light and gives it a deep, warm glow when you turn it on. At the same time, the lampshade is perforated in small decorative triangles that form Tyrell's signature pattern. The perforation creates a star-like glow that creates beautiful secondary lighting that aesthetically accompanies the primary light that flows out from the wide opening at the bottom of the lampshade.
In Tyrell's home country Finland, the 9209 Table Lamp is also referred to as "Kypärä" which means helmet in Finnish. The helmet-shaped lampshade ensures that the light is directed into an efficient downlight and gives the lamp a special character with a high recognition value.
