Bestlite BL3 Floor Lamp Ø21 Brass/Brass - Gubi

The classic Bestlite BL3 floor lamp in brass/brass was designed in 1930 by Robert Dudley Best, a British designer who was strongly influenced by the Bauhaus school. Its clean lines and elegant appearance are combined with great functionality, thanks to the adjustable arms – both horizontally and vertically – and the movable lampshade. Bestlite lamps were first used in the Royal Air Force Engineering Department due to their great functionality. Architects’ Journal named Bestlite the first example of Bauhaus in Britain, which drew the attention of design-conscious people to the lamp. Public demand soon followed, and when Winston Churchill personally chose his Bestlite BL1 table lamp for his desk, the lamp’s iconic status was secured.
The Bestlite design remains true to its industrial roots and is faithful to the original design. The lamps are on permanent display at the Victoria & Albert Museum and the Design Museum in London.
