Copenhagen SC14 Floor Lamp Opal Glass - &Tradition

The Copenhagen SC14 Opal Glass floor lamp was designed with a strong maritime inspiration, as gas lamps from the capital's harbour facilities greatly influenced its shape. The basic form has been modernised, but the lacquered metal shade, which is clamped to the cord with stretched, curved metal, is reminiscent of its historical background.

The starting point was to create a design that would allow the use of different metals, but also for a purely sculptural design with a simple finish. Copenhagen is designed with a unique eye for detail and a focus on surface texture, combining the classic with the modern in a unique way.
It is no secret that Space Copenhagen has extensive experience as an interior designer, and this is evident in the care that has gone into the design. The flexibility built into the light and the attention to detail are almost overwhelming. Even the amount of light emitted by the floor lamp was carefully planned from the outset. The lampshade is largest in the middle and tapers towards the top and bottom, giving it volume and weight while protecting the viewer from looking directly into the light source.
