The Lampe Gras 222 wall light epitomises the timeless fusion of functionality and aesthetics. Its origins date back to 1922, when Bernard-Albin Gras developed the first designs for his lights. The basic construction was developed without screws or welded joints. Arms, bodies, fittings and connections are precisely coordinated and demonstrate the exceptional originality of the design language. Le Corbusier was fascinated by the modern design of Lampe Gras lights from an early stage and incorporated them into his projects.

Note on the raw copper lampshade: The lampshade is initially supplied bare and untreated and has not yet developed a patina upon receipt. Natural oxidation only begins after unpacking, through contact with air and moisture. Over time, this results in the characteristic patina and the unique copper look.

The rate of change cannot be precisely determined, as factors such as humidity, temperature and the environment all play a role. The first signs of darkening may become visible after around 14 days. If you wish to speed up the oxidation process, you can store the lampshade outdoors in the shade for a few days, ensuring it is protected.
