The natural patination process only begins after unpacking, as soon as the raw copper comes into contact with the air. Humidity and environmental factors, such as steam from cooking or rainwater, can influence the process. The copper may begin to darken visibly after as little as 14 days. The exact rate of patination cannot be predicted due to individual environmental conditions.
