The OK pendant in Black is an interesting update on Achille Castiglioni’s Parentesi lamp from 1972. As another twist to the story, Parentesi itself is a tribute to a 1969 thought up by Pio Manzú, who passed away before his idea was brought to life.
The basic theory that puts a wonderful light source in the centre and stretches it out onto a wire is apparent in this product. The lamp itself can be run up or down the spine of the lamp, rotated 360 degrees, and steered to ensure maximum control. The flat LED light source ensures that the expression is distinctly modern.
The pendant’s floor weight is conic in shape, which creates a certain lightness and elegant finish. The name of the OK pendant comes from the circular head of the lamp and the first letter of Konstantin.
