Optimised version of the classic PH Artichoke design
The fan-shaped structure makes this pendant light something truly special. PH Artichoke is an eye-catching design object in private homes and a stylish feature in public halls, restaurants, concert halls and galleries, combining stylish looks and pleasant light like no other light.
PH Artichoke dates back to 1958. Danish designer, architect, critic, journalist and writer Poul Henningsen designed the pendant light for the Langelinie Pavillon restaurant and event hall in Copenhagen, which was being restored and redesigned at the time. Over the years, manufacturer Louis Poulsen has introduced numerous other versions of the light.
These are characterised by a common design. 72 metal leaves are grouped in twelve rows of six leaves each. The lamp to be inserted in the centre is not visible to the viewer; its light is reflected between the leaves, illuminating them and penetrating the room indirectly and without glare.
