Copenhagen SC7 pendant light Opal/Bronzed Brass - &Tradition

The Copenhagen SC7 Opal/Brass pendant light was designed with a strong maritime inspiration, as the gas lamps from the capital's harbour facilities greatly influenced its shape. The basic shape has been modernised, but the lacquered metal shade, which is clamped to the cord with stretched, bent metal, reveals its historical background.

The starting point was to create a design that would allow the use of different metals, but also to create a purely sculptural design with a simple execution. The Copenhagen SC7 Opal/Brass pendant lights have been created with a unique eye for detail and focus on surface texture, combining the classic with the modern in a unique way.
It is no secret that Space Copenhagen has extensive experience as an interior designer, and this is also evident in the care with which the design was developed. The flexibility built into the light and the attention to detail are almost overwhelming. Even the amount of light emitted from the pendant light was carefully planned from the outset. The lampshade is largest in the middle and tapers towards the top and bottom, adding volume and weight while protecting the viewer from looking directly into the light source.
