Wall Light 210, black/white polycarbonate – Iconic design meets modern materials

The Wall Light 210 is an icon of the 20th century. Its origins date back to 1922, when Bernard-Albin Gras put the first carefully considered sketches to paper. The series of lights has grown steadily ever since – shown here in a version with a black frame and a white polycarbonate lampshade. Conceived for offices and industrial settings, the series was unique in its simple, robust yet ergonomic design. The basic form featured neither screws nor welded seams.

The lights in DCW’s Lampe Gras range epitomise functionalism and aesthetics. In particular, the design of the individual details – such as the arms, body, fittings and the assembly of the parts – displays a well-thought-out originality that was far ahead of its time. Le Corbusier was fascinated by the modern design of the Lampe Gras lights from an early stage and used them in his projects.

Today, the lights from the Lampe Gras series are sought-after collector’s items all over the world, particularly in France, the USA and Japan. Bernard-Albin Gras’s talented and visionary design has proved to be timeless.
