The family-owned business is famous for its ground-breaking designs. Vitra first saw the light of day in 1950 when the founder, Willi Fehlbaum, fell in love with a chair designed by Ray and Charles Eames. He subsequently purchased the rights to the product, and this proved a decisive moment for Vitra. Aside from furniture design, Vitra has also made a name for itself in the worlds of light design and home accessories.
