Singles Day

Still not sure what Singles Day is? Singles Day originated in China in the 1990s as a reaction to Valentine’s Day. A couple of—presumably single—Chinese students wanted to do away with the day that celebrates love, where you’re confronted with the fact that you’re single. November 11th was the perfect day to celebrate singlehood as it’s the date with the most singles/ones (1-1/1-1).
