Good news for all Verner Panton fans: one of his most popular and famous designs is coming back as a lovely, exclusive wall lamp. The Flowerpot lamp is a Danish design icon, and it’s been a beloved part of the &Tradition collection since 2010.
Verner Panton designed the Flowerpot lamp back in 1968, where it became a symbol of the 60s Flower Power peace movement, and it was incredibly successful thanks to its wide range of colours, not to mention its comfortable, glare-free glow.
Verner Panton’s use of innovative materials, colours, and shapes gave him a reputation of being a visionary, and in &Tradition’s CEO Martin Kornbek Hansen’s words: ‘Panton’s provocative use of materials, geometric shapes and psychedelic colours set him apart from his contemporaries’. This also explains why he was one of the most influential designers in Europe in the 60s and why his designs are now considered first-rate across the globe.
When the Flowerpot design first hit the market in 1968, the wall lamp version never went into production, but decades later, that’s finally changing! In collaboration with Verner Panton’s family,
&Tradition has finally made the original and classic design available to all. The VP8 wall lamp is an exclusive version equipped with the same distinct dome-shaped lampshades in their original sizes. The lampshades are made of metal and come in a range of strong, lively colours—a tribute to one of Panton’s trademarks. This elegant relaunch can be adjusted vertically along the rail, creating an up- or downlight as you see fit, making it the perfect bedside lamp or light for the cosy reading nook.
The combination of new colours with the light and stylish design gives the lamp a timeless and exclusive look that can be integrated into all styles of décor, lighting up your life with an aesthetic piece of design history. Create a cosy light and atmosphere with this unique design that never goes out of style.
