Since the Satellite series saw the light of day in 1953, this special lamp has been known and loved in the design world. The mastermind behind this beautiful creation is the French-Hungarian designer
Mathieu Matégot, who invented a completely new manufacturing technique to give the lamp the characteristic rigitulle shade that adorns all lamps in the Satellite range. The rigitulle technique is characterized by the perforated pattern and paper-thin structure that allows the metal to be bent into artistic shapes, giving it a fluffy appearance reminiscent of tulle. The delicate-looking but strong rigitulle combined with the characteristic elongated and round shape therefore gives the impression that the Satellite lamp floats in space like a zeppelin. The design is complemented by an asymmetrical, triangular outer shade that sits like a hat on top of the lamp, so the overall result is a sculptural and shape-oriented designer lamp of high aesthetic value.

The lights, which include floor and pendant lights in several sizes and color variants, all have an IP65 rating, which protects them from the effects of wind and weather. This makes them ideal for mounting on a covered terrace or balcony for enjoyment on long summer evenings.
The lamps are also ideal for outdoor use, as the neat hole pattern in the rigitulle shade allows the light from the light source inside to penetrate in a soft glow all the way around the lamp. At the same time, it shields the light so that it does not dazzle but shines out softly and pleasantly to the surroundings. With Satellite you get the best of both worlds - direct lighting in a glare-free glow.
